[CATCH A GLIMPSE] A BRIEF REVIEW OF SPRING ANIME 2015

Spring comes! And new anime as well. Well, spring is best known for hanami. People start to run their errand in such good setting. Everything is blossoming. The cherry blossom, the girl. Their fluffy skirt is fluttering as well as their hair while they run, leaving a nice fragrance and memories to people behind. Aah~ what a nice season.

Last season we managed to watch first episode of each anime, 29 in total of 30 anime we expected to watch. How many we can manage as for this time? We use the same preset rule we made last time. 1 episode rule with minimum spoiler (if we thought it really matters). Without further ado, let's go.

The quality of the anime and the objectionable content as well as the suitable viewers advised may change as the story goes further.

Second adventure of Diamond no Ace

40. Kaitou Joker 2nd Season

 

Kaitou Joker always successfully steal things, no matter what it takes not to mention he always gives an notification before. This time he turn in himself to police and he makes Hachi to do so as well. What is he up to?

First of all, why this anime teach the children to steal and made him like the hero instead of a thief. In addition to that, he steals for his own interest rather than for a good reason unlike Robin Hood, for example. Nevertheless, the anime isn't bad. They always come with a good reasoning in every episode how Kaitou or his rival are able to escape from a difficult set-up made by the "enemy". Since this anime is for children they present some magical tools to get their attention.

39. BAR Kiraware Yasai

 

Celery and Parsley is arguing which one is the most hated by children and the Bartender man interrupts them at once.

The story revolves the talk between the vegetables that children hates. While the vegetables is animation the bartender is a real human with face unexposed. The show is only lasting in less than 2 minutes so it might not hurt to watch some. Furthermore, the song is good.

Ninja: Revenge of Salaryman

 

38. Ninja Slayer from Animation

Fujikido Kenji was just an ordinary salaryman. His son and his wife has been killed by ninjas. Supposed to be at the brink of life, his grudge and will to survive drives him to be posessed by Naraku Ninja and turn him into Ninja Slayer, a ninja who kills ninja. After defeating those ninjas, he starts his hunt for bringing down Soukaiya, an evil organization which bear the sin for killing his family. While he promises to kill all ninjas by his own hand, his resolve echoed on his mind.

Ninja Slayer is coming from Japanese Japanese science fiction novel which be believed to be created by American authors named Bradley Bond and Philip "Ninj@" Morzez. Enterbrain later owns the permission and publish the Japanese translated version in September 2012 with illustrations by Warainaku. The illustrations itself comes really good described similar to American sketch and coloring but the style and themes of the character is following Japanese pop cultural design. 

And then the anime ruins everything with pretty bad taste of animation that actually a simple flash (.swf) that you could make by yourself for real. It's just a waste knowing such a good design of the ninja and monsters turned out to be like that. As a further matter, due to its fame  people really set a high hope for the animation. The number of people streaming it from Niconico alone is reaching more than 1 million. I can't tell for certain whether people are actually like it and just go with it or they are just wondering how it turns out to be. Aside from the animation, the story they offered is quite good.

37. Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love Revolutions

 

Nanami Haruka is heading to Saotome Academy while she run into each member of ST☆RISH and QUARTET NIGHT in row. After got blushed and amazed by each one of them she finally get to the place. When everyone come together, Saotome Shining as the principal comes as noisy as ever tell everyone around about International Sports Festival namely Super Star Sports coming. The principal is planning to submit the QUARTET NIGHT as a candidate to performing in opening ceremony while Haruka is reserved to compose their new song. What about the ST☆RISH then?

The real kakkoii boys are coming around and they come for their third season for real. Compared to the previous season, the song they present for the first episode is less good. I personally prefer to Shounen Hollywood when it comes to choreography. They way they dance is more masculine than the Utapri guys. Shounen Hollywood also got a better song in better rounded voice. But that is the main reason why Utapri is more popular by teenage girls. 

Scientifically proven by hormone research, most girls at their pubescent tend to like a girlish-face boys. It doesn't mean the boy is sassy. But the girls is adoring the good-looking boy with cute face and nice body standard. Give her the bass voice from that boys and it would be perfect. Of course there exist a deviation issue from the data research. I said it in major, though. But I have to agree that Utapri is the best for alluring girls in this case. You can expect a lot of good song henceforth.

36. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid

 

Belkia was a world once ravaged in war for years. Now, it is all written in history book kept in silence with the witnesses already living together in peace with respective offspring. Takamachi Vivio is a lively girl with promising talent. Being the daughter of Takamachi Nanoha, she is gifted with passion both in magic learn and martial arts. Meanwhile, there is serial assailant in city attacks only people capable in martial arts, calling herself by the name that everyone remember it well. Is it a new sign of a new battle?

Coming as an adaptation from manga with the same title, Nanoha Vivid is direct continuation of the long lasting series of Nanoha franchise as well. Nanoha is considered one of big name both in anime industry and history. Bringing an unique perspective of mahou shoujo (magical girl), the technology used in Nanoha's world is actually a magic with a complex rule like how mechanism works in machinery or weaponry. 

Despite its cute appearance, the previous anime shown an unsettled friendship theme with a lot of conflict and conspiracy in land raged with war which rather depressing to be called mahou shoujou anime. Supported by a ton of character, this colossal anime sure will bring joy to veteran fans to enjoy vast universe of Nanoha. If you are a newly fans planning to follow a whole series, its a good time to start with this one while trying to catch up by looking back the prior series. First episode is just a mere introduction with a good greetings to another.

35. Urawa no Usagi-chan

 

Takasago Usagi is heading off in her first day of school as cheerful as ever. Her grandmother once told her name was referring to rabbit statue set up at Tsukijinja shrine. On the way to school, she run into her friend, Ooyaba Minami and Kamikizaki Tokiwa. Even though the seasons change, everyday is a good day for people in Urawa, from this moment and forth.

An anime to promote Urawa Ward's goodness located in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. This anime is made in spirit to spread these former prefectural capital's  appeal to everyone and make the city into a new tourism destination. The name of the main character itself is coming from one of Urawa's landmark. In addition, the name of other seven girls is featuring the various popular places in Urawa. Even the voice actresses is coming from Saitama Prefecture to distinguish from any others. The anime comes with a simple story of girls friendship. They also give a lot of attention in detail of the setting to portray the atmosphere of Urawa at its best.

34. Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku

 

Ichinomiya Eruna is a girl yet she had a liking to cute girls. Her older cousin, Ninomiya Shigure direct her to his school since there is a girl that draw her attention. Thinking the girls is only miraculous thing the school has, it actually has more in it than meets the eye. In that school, there is only cultural club and each club must battle each other to seize some privilege over others. Being guided by Bimii which not helping at all, Eruna gets another surprise..

Another series in which rely on the character's fuss to spread excitement over viewers. The concept sounds like Kill la Kill in the beginning but in this anime the battle among the club get the focus more and there is only cultural club instead of sports club while in Kill la Kill the mystery of what happening and the revenge of protagonist is the main topic. The origin is coming from the Japanese light novel with the same title, written by Last Note and illustrated by Akina. The light novel itself is inspired from series of songs samely named and the lyrics was written by the same author. All of those songs are performed by one vocaloid singer, GUMI. 

Every character has their own song that describing a certain thing of the character. Last Note also in charge for scoring the music. The song of Yasaka Himi from Calligraphy Club, Uchouten Vivace [有頂天ビバーチェ] successfully enter the Vocaloid Hall of Fame, while the song of the main protagonist, Ichinomiya Eruna named Houkago Stride [放課後ストライド] made it through as an entry of Vocaloid Hall of Legend. Watching all the video as well as following the anime will give you a grasp of good work that has crossed over various media.

33. Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation

A.D. 2115. Japan as a national government faced its dissolution following the rise of megacorporation during the 21st century. Kazasumi Tooru, a boy who lived in "17th Far East Imperial City Management District." Society runs by following a certain ranking system called KK Matrix. People worth are valued by their genetic potential to determine their ability henceforth. Nonetheless, the rank itself is another lies. Since Tooru is an orphan his rank can't go above D. While there is a rumor about people disappeared in thin air, Tooru dreamt about a little girl asking for help after leaving a complex function in ground. One day, he found the girl and run after her. Instead, he found an old abandon city and warped to parallel world with his friend, Katagiri Kyouka. Getting caught in the middle of battle all a sudden, both are trying to survive while Tooru found the one who attacked him is... another himself from different world.

It has a bright potential to be another blast. I just hope the explanation about Japan's dissolution and ranking system won't go waste. Well as a matter of fact, any game adaptation would often be getting a hard time to adjust the story unless they make new original plot. The previous similar one which coming from the same battle genre game, Blazblue: Alter Memory, isn't very successful whereas the game is really good. Let's hope it doesn't end like Blazblue since rather than that one this anime beginning is good.

32. Hello!! Kiniro Mosaic

Oomiya Shinobu and Cartelet Alice is in different class now since they get into second grade of high school. It's still not even a day, but both already miss each other. In other hand, Komichi Aya is getting the same feeling towards Inokuma Youko. Together with Kujou Karen, everyday is just the same day as ever. Everyday they get along and tease each other for another chance to know more about others and to be everyone best friend ever.

We might say that one basis to pass our judgement is how good the series can develop and deliver their potential in every aspect. This series is just about cute girls  get along with one another doing a lot of cutesy things in a cute way to preserve its cuteness. How much is the cute then? A lot. It might attract someone fondness while it could be boring for some others. Actually in our very opinion, they're just fairly presenting a high school girls life in certain degree of childish manner added with easily blushing face. Having been combined with the tiny size, it just simply magnify the effect to the right size to have you look for nearest sack to put them in and take them away amount so you have nothing more to say to love it. It's just adequate. So, how do I get my sack?

31. Re-Kan!

 

Since was a child, Amami Hibiki has sixth sense which makes her be able to see ghosts and spirits and interacts with them as well. Despite her peculiar act, her friends gradually accepted her as she is. Hibiki is getting along with surroundings of both world and make them aware more about each other in everyday filled with ado.

Another anime with a simple slice of life theme. Instead of making the ghost at least more adorable, they prefer to maintain the ghost as they are described in legend. It's not that scary. In fact, it makes the anime funnier. The joke isn't really hilarious but they're pretty funny to follow. The way Hibiki act and say if there is 'something' around is kind of annoying but it's just genuinely telling that Hibiki is sincere about everything. The setting reminds me to SHAFT studio but it's actually Pierrot Plus works. The animation is fairly beautiful. If you don't expect a lot and start to accept everything as it is as Hibiki friends do, this anime might entertain you in certain way. After all, that's how we supposed to live in society no matter what kind of world you get along with.

30. Houkago no Pleiades

Subaru is a clumsy, slow, and a bit airhead girl. When she is going back to observatory at school, the room suddenly changed into a garden with a sickly fragile boy inside. After having some talk and exiting from the room, it suddenly going back to normal. After that she set her foot over a Pleiadian, a mysterious outer space creature that ends up giving her the power to be a magical girl. She also meets another magical girls in team which one of them is happened to be her former classmate, Aoi and be able to express his feeling which ends up clearing misbelief between her. She then decides to give a hand by joining them to collect engine fragment so the Pleiadian can go home. But the retrieving attempt won't be easy as she barely finds that they never been success before. In addition to that, a mysterious boy appear before her..

Comparing to another animation studio, the veteran Gainax studio only produced less than any other big studio but some of it is actually an immense hit like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Evangelion. Houkago no Pleiades actually once aired in 2011 but in short duration. Looks like it was also adapted from a manga. In short, only a few have noticed Houkago no Pleiades existence in the past as if we can assume it really begins anew. 

Houkago no Pleiades offers a girly friendship with the absence of violence so it's really safe for all ages. They also provides a fairly pretty animation with a vivid pastel color and high vibrant girls. From the beginning, they perhaps didn't set the complex conflict by purpose to aim some viewers that looked for that. It's still not confirmed yet but it can't possibly run as depressing as Madoka Magica. I think they have successfully delivered their point. Before I forgot, this work is a joint works by Gainax and the company that sharing the same name with the main character, yes the automobile company, Subaru. As you can see the light beam of the magic sometimes resembles the Subaru logo. Some item is actually referring to car item like the key of the club which is mostly like a car key and the blades of the girl's weapon looks like grille from Subaru car.

29. Denpa Kyoushi

 

Kagami Junichirou is a genius. He was used to do a lot of paper and research, even his paper once got published in Nature. How cool it was! But it's all in past. After entering college he lost all that interest and turned into perfect otaku. Being annoyed by her brother life choice, Kagami Suzune get him by force a job to teaching High School physics at his alma mater. One day he found his student got bullied. And of course, he comes up with a plan to help the innocent.

Junichirou always claims over his YD (coming from the alphabetical sound of japanese reading [やりたいことしかできない病][Yaritai koto shika Dekinai byou (datte/to iu)] which generally means "I only do things I want to do" or vice-versa to avoid doing something that doesn't match with his fancy. Actually that kind of disease, illness, or disorder is never exist in the first place. It just an excuse coming from slacker which in this instance is the protagonist aside from his ingenius. Putting aside the animation quality, I got a little problem with the seiyuu (voice actor/actress, "character voice" is more familiar term to be called of in japan). The voice of Kagami Suzune is too heavy. But considering it's the debut of the seiyuu outside idol world, I guess I'm okay with that.

Seidou High finally faced off the dark horse of 89th National High School Championship, Yakushi High School. Even the fastball of Furuya Satoru can't stop the ace of Yakushi that known as mad slugger, Todoroki Raichi. Just in second cycle of batter plays, Kataoka Tesshin switched Furuya out and sends Sawamura Eijun up to the mound. Each team has been playing aggressively and plays their ace up on their sleeve in response to each other. Who will be the last ace to secure the place for the next match?

To win National High School Baseball Championship (全国高等学校野球選手権大会)[zenkoku kōtō gakkō yakyū senshuken taikai] of Japan, commonly known as "Summer Kōshien" (夏の甲子園)[natsu no kōshien] or Koshien in short, is everything that a Japanese High School Baseball club would ask for. As I'm aware, baseball is the most popular sport in Japan even more than soccer while in the origin country, United States, where the sport comes from, it comes second after American Football. Feel the intimidating atmosphere from the batter or the intense feeling of the pitcher as good as clamorous sound of the audience from entire field that asking for winning for the team they adored. The anime is made by joint work of Madhouse and Production I.G and supported by real brand of sport apparel so you can expect a good result from them. The first season has just ended and they continue the series promptly afterwards means it's really a serious deal to do with. If you are a baseball lover you have to watch this. I really like the opening, by the way.

27. Etotama

 

Amato Takeru has just moved in when he found Nyaa-tan (cat) in the rent house. Nyaa-tan is an eto-musume, the lower rank of eto-shin, the zodiac goddesses. While the Moo-tan (ox), Shima-tan (tiger), Usa-tan (rabbit), Shaa-tan (snake), Uma-tan (horse), Mei-tan (sheep), Kii-tan (monkey), Piyo-tan (rooster), Inu-tan (dog) was conducting a sampling survey to passerby to convince themselves how much people are remembering them, Nyaa-tan is supposed to train harder in order to get hold of a position in Junishi (Chinese Zodiac). Instead, she is just slacking off. At night Uri-tan (boar) pays a visit to see how is Nyaa-tan doing. Suddenly Dora-tan (dragon) appears out of nowhere and attack Takeru and Nyaa-tan.

Based on a famous fable in Chinese, well if they aren't moe-antropomorphized and put some added value in it at all, the cat decides to reclaim for Junishi title. It seems they have put a lot of thought in character design and personality as an improvement into the characters so much that I love every one of them. Unfortunately, the story tells otherwise. The joke doesn't really works and they quite messed up for mixing the slapstick, fanservice, and pushing the plot as the part of joke. Putting aside the usual treat of revealing clothes in some characters as a bonus, they got an unique 3D CG chibi battle (wew, it's quite hard to say) to present that really looks like a game. The CG was neatly rendered with detailed settings and much effect. When it comes as one part, I can't say I hate it. Speaking of which, I'd really buy the game if they might decide to make it someday.

In the future when cutting-edge technology has brought down nation and race borders and make it null, Major Matoko Kusanagi and their team consist of combatant experts once again have to dealing advanced cyber-terrorism and sophisticated philosophical hacker in the world where hacking ability in cyborg and taking control over personality by brain-hacking is more dangerous than pulling the trigger.

The pioneer and the prominence of the spec ops sets in the future with extreme philosopical perspective which going to make you jaw-dropping for being able to elaborate such idea. Due to its popularity and their long history of franchise, since the series is like a lot of complicated things merged into one thing, this series inspired alot similar works with partial theme of it is adapted such as Appleseed, Ergo Proxy, Pluto, Psycho-Pass, Rakuen Tsuihou: Expelled from Paradise and many more not to mention a lot of Hollywood director was also get the mind-blown which aspire them to make simpler and easier works based on it.

As I said before, this anime is utterly good if you can catch up a whole thing. Yet for you who just begin totally clueless about this anime in the first place, it might be quite hard to follow. There is some term that has its own concept like Ghost, Ghost-hacking, or wizard-class hacker. You can always explain it by words but a little understanding about technical scope like how far we can hack or alter the mind, will help you understand either in the motive of the terrorist or the way the protagonist act. This anime is a TV series of Ghost in the Shell: Arise anime movie while the live-action of Ghost in the Shell will begin filming in early 2016. Ghost in the Shell live-action is starring Scarlett Johansson most known for her role in recently movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

25. Sidonia no Kishi: Daikyuu Wakusei Seneki

 

After a long combat which he has put their live on the line, Tanikaze Nagate has been becoming the ace among the pilot of Gardes on his own. In the meantime, Kunato Norio carelessly infiltrate Ochiai's Lab. Being unable to stop him, Kunato Mozuku was helping him instead. What are they getting at?

Blatantly speaking, Sidonia no Kishi is a kind of anime that will be hated by mainstream otakus due to its bizarre 3D appearance not to mention the design of the mecha looks like the rip-off version of Macross. Sorry guys, but they actually have their own standard of awesome. But speaking of sweet things, I like the way they show Ena Hoshijiro (Hoshijiro Placental) with some skin exposed while the rest is covered in Gauna membrane. It's kind of mysterious and tempting at the same time. 

In general term, Sidonia no Kishi told about the strives of the Humanity against mysterious alien called Gauna which really against the concept of creature. Along with the battle they learn the enigma of the Gauna while sometimes humanity still can't work together even in the brink of their history. There is a lot of unexpected turn and some twist in the first season as the concept of revealing the enemy ability itself is the main element that had been attracting the viewers. The theme is outdated but the way they deliver and constructing the story is distinguished. After all, they aren't nominated in Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2015 for nothing.

24. Kekkai Sensen

New York is no longer exist. Instead of calling it New New York, the city is now called Jerusalem Lot. When a breach had opened in the city it created an impenetrable bubble force barrier and all a sudden a bunch of creature from Netherworld was emerging. Now both of human and the creatures that get caught in the barrier were living together. Shunless drastic change in society is happened so fast in response to the situation such as the technology, art, and the way of life. The difference power between human and the creatures causing the commotion as the daily frenzy. 

Jerusalem Lot, the city where the abnormal has became the norm. There lived Leonardo Watch. One day a sonic speed monkey steal his camera. By the irony of fate, a series of event lead him to the quarter of Libra, a secret organization that strives to balance and protect Jerusalem Lot from any bad interest.

Another Jump origins. The series was also coming from the big name of Trigun creator, Yasuhiro Nightow. As usual every manga in Jump tends to show a fast-pace action battle. It's also been known that some of main character in Jump is sort of humble and not really strong at first but has a special ability to distinguish from others. This one is no exception. We've always been thought that United States is melting-pot country with every races there and in other hand, New York is one of and might be the most bustling city over the world. Using the fact, they're cleverly change those idea into a city with various strange creatures lived together alongside human with all bloody and blast riot. This is actually not really a novel idea. They seem inspired from Men in Black (MIB) and some of the appearance of the creatures look like the alien from MIB.

I like the kind of idea but it seems they're just rushing things to jump on conclusions to immediately show the awesome act and moves. The plot of first episode isn't really neat and they cover it up by saying 'a series of coincidence'. But overall, it's good. I also like the Broadway alike soundtrack. After all, the setting is in place formerly known as New York, right?

23. Vampire Holmes

 

Holmes is going to solve a mystery of girl disappearance with the assist of Hudson. But, how come he solves such mystery if he is having a hard time for just retrieving a lost retriever?

Against his very name, Holmes in this series is good-for-nothing person. The show is really weird yet from that weirdness resulting ludicrous comedy aside from the kakkoii design of the characters. Even the songs is weird. I don't say it's bad. The animation is using CG and some chibi animation for some parts. I'd always like to watch this kind of 5 minutes anime and I see each one has been bringing a different anti-mainstream way for presenting their story to cover its time lack. Hang in there, Holmes!

An anime about daily activity of tennis club member which appears as none of it but very a little in few episodes in the past. Instead, they're just fooling around and playing along with each other plays. A short-animation comedy anime which is really weird yet hilarious at the same time. They use a lot of typical Japanese comedy style to deliver the humor using this formula: tsukkomi (straightforward reaction) plays, dajare (wordplay) and fast-talked dialogue. You could find every part of it as in Manzai. The line they said is really absurd and unexpected and so did the reaction given as well. The drastic change of situation or sudden outcome parts really make me laugh while I still maintain to raise an eyebrow due its ridiculousness. Looks like in this season they come up with a lot of parody from movie.

Charapedia woman top seiyuu in 2015, Hanazawa Kana, is doing one of the character voice and singing an unique song for upcoming soundtrack. The song is named Qunka!. If you want to hear her usual delicate voice in silly manner or dialogue, this is the way you'll find it.

I found it in the middle of watching then I thought the story somehow is kind of shoujo and when I checked it afterwards, I was right. I know I could know it from the opening maybe I was busy doing something back then. It is the adaptation of shoujo manga with the same title. They manage to make the anime so it doesn't look shoujo that makes everyone not hesitant to check it out. Unlike some shoujo manga adaptation anime that still preserve the shoujo style, this one makes a good move to prevent guys or boys make an early judgement to not watching it. The comedy is not really hilarious but it's quite funny. Also, I love with the idea of story. The romance is so delicate and sweet, whether it's literally or implicit. Somehow if I got as big as Takeo maybe my instinct would just say and tend to protect this little girl as well.

One of Weekly Shonen Jump (WSJ) readers favorite finally pave his path to anime adaptation. In my very personal opinion I like the manga much more than the anime. The design of the character rendered better in manga than in anime. Sort of. Hyoudou Issei is the exemplary one, the best of its kind when we talked about juvenile delinquency. Nonetheless, in my personal opinion perhaps DxD is the best ecchi packed with action-fantasy around in addition to audacious topic. Coming with divine and supernatural creature as characters, combined with action battle in flashy armored costume, DxD has darker atmosphere in it than meets the eye. If you like all idea I mentioned before, you should follow up this anime, or maybe you have it already.

People generally know Arslan Senki is adaptation manga of Yoshiki Tanaka's fantasy novel with the same title illustrated by blockbuster mangaka that well known for her work in Full Metal Alchemist and Gin no Saji, Hiromu Arakawa. The real story of the origin actually is quite a history. Arslan Senki is story inspired from Amir Arsalān-i Nāmdār (امیر ارسلان نامد}, the translated version of narrated poem by Iran royal storyteller in 19th century, Mohammad Ali Naqib al-Mamalek {میرزا محمدعلی نقیب الممالک‎}. The poem was made to entertain the king at the time, Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar { ناصرالدین شاه قاجار‎}. Mohammad never transcribed the poem himself, but the daughter of the Shah, who also loved the tale, eventually transcribed it and preserved it for history^[1]. If you ever heard the story of 1001 Arabian Night, it is sort of like that. 

Anyway, it will be another big hit of Arakawa-sensei. The end of first episode just starts the good part of Arslan's long journey.

Tesaguri Club from the Tesagure! Bukatsumono anime get his spin-off apparently. Since it's a spin-off they want to do some things differently. Coincidentally, this time they got a guest from Minarai Megami Puru-purn Sharumu (みならい女神 プルプルんシャルム) manga which hasn't gotten his anime adaptation yet despite its popularity. So they all decide to doing anime collaboration in Tesagure! Bukatsumono way since it's the first time they are appearing in anime. By pretending as if they're still in sleep, they decide to divide the rest of the airing time for both parties. Puru-purn Sharumu girls will talk about new female type battle robots and the girls from Tesagure! Bukatsumono will improvise an one-frame manga.

Tesagure Bukatsumono! is a 2D anime be rendered with CG so it's looked like 2.5 CG a bit. Let's call it unique, but it's not the main part of fun. The anime is known for its ad-lib which demands the seiyuu to improvise their line without leaving the main keynote. The way they discuss the topic is really earnest and faithfully delivered without forcing their expression though sometimes they can go crazy every so often. But all the craziness is considerably normal, you know like when you are so enthusiast to talk about something then you go all-out with your quirks and exclamation. And I can't believe they can do all of it orderly. Even when they're going to cut others line or chiming something, somehow they remain clear and fair.

You need at least a little understanding or knowledge about Japanese language to enjoy their reaction more. But don't you worry. You don't need to go so far as apply Noryoku Shiken for instance.

I really enjoyed the first season a lot. I was really happy when they decided to continue on this series though I never expected it in the first place. The best thing of this series is the choice of weekly topic as story. 

As it sounds, the anime was intended to adult viewers. There is no ecchi scene or barely edge-pushed porn presented. They simply put the smart and earnest way of depicting the adult life with all of their problems including financial, life-necessary skill, and how to live a nerve-wracking life as hardworker in Japan especially for young couples not to mention their different way of seeing things. Tamura Yukari as Kaoru and Suzumura Kenichi as Haijme really fit in with the character. Not only is adult are entertained in simple way, but they also will find the antics is antique since a lot of parodies from old times media has been brought.

So far I always like how Kyoto Animation (KyoAni) put the animations in a way that anything except the character looks really realistic. The setting, the music instrument, really looks like real deal. Even the blurry scene, the character portrayed and the rotating camera in opening sequence emphasize the way of showing anime distinctly and noticeably from others. It's not a new thing, but they present it excellently.

The character depicted beautifully without leaving its cuteness and quirk as KyoAni characteristics. Some might tell that the characters is similar with their previous works, but we thought it's just KyoAni distinctive style. The story is running in normal pace, in other hand the way they arrange the plot and relation between one another is easy to understand. Besides, no one so far could bring this brand new theme. You can gain a lot of information about the brass brand in this anime. Embark to the musical journey to perform bravura in order to be fortissimo forte in national!

The interesting part is the way they add some old times trivial like explaining an item function with the price and a predictable plot twist in the end of mission. Those trivial may sound so usual, but they can assemble such a lot of explanation of what happening into one simple and enjoyable episode.

Iridatsu Yuuta get caught in bus hijacking. It takes awhile for Strange Juice to come saving the bus. To put an end of this, Yuuta jumped and seized the mastermind and push him to the water along with himself. Luckily he is not dead since the Strange Juice saved him. The problem is thereafter. If you have watched anime for long then you would have found the other meaning of the title aside from the English meaning. When some anime try to deliver fanservice blatantly, this anime just simply brings back the old-fashioned style in a discreetly mischievous way. The plot sequence is really random and unexpected but they can bring those and arrange it into such a dissipated and amusing story. The visual is really good with bright and vivid color that will simply attract and ease the eyes while the motion of the character is really smooth. I also love both the song especially the ending. In my opinion the ending is typical Japanese pop group 90's song so somehow it rings a bell and brings back the old good times. The lyrics do as well. 

During the anime you will find a lot of panties and a few sexual themed things whether it could be seen clearly or implying stated. Let it the title stated as so, as the visual alone entice you or provide you the joke, some joke is actually hidden inside whether it's in the characters name, the song's lyrics, the visual such as the image-pattern as the most obvious for instance, or the text throughout the anime. If you clever enough, there is a lot of anagram hidden which if you arrange or disassemble it in right order you will find some perv words and messages. But, if you can't find it, rest assured, there is a few antics that you can enjoy immediately.

You will notice the design of 3D CG chibi is somewhat looks like Hello Kitty. Your guess is right. One of the producers is Sanrio, the company whose has the copyright of Hello Kitty. It is also the first work of Studio GOONEYS. Considering Sanrio only made a few anime apart from Hello Kitty itself and this is the first work of Studio GOONEYS, their work is surprisingly wonderful. They're not only featuring a cute girls here but also a kakkoii boys to attract both gender with different fancies. Every song featured here is really well made and well delivered.

Another train feels that will be coming right to your heart. The plot and the joke isn't so stand out. Unless they give inevitable saddening occurence with bigger impact in the future, the series won't last long to attract audiences. They spare some time to show Isla silliness and innocence, perhaps to give a more saddening impact due to the drastic turn of events. But they give a quite good job when the Giftia is retrieved. I see they give more frames when the characters are crying especially in retrieval process. The music plays a major role to accompany the sad scene. Overall, everything is worked out as they planned and it's well done.

Seriously, how in the world every woman surrounding having at least D cup? Wait, at least? Coming from Shuji Sato, the one who also illlustrates Highschool of the Dead, you can expect a lot of tempting woman and girls with a big volume and counting. They seem have a plot if you focus enough. I am joking. The story comes up with a novel idea to be a wordplay like I said before. The way protagonist ended up as he is right now is also formidable.

Surprisingly, Mikaela has been arranging an escape plan with his orphanage family. While the thing looks so good, a vile fate is following after them.

I really love the warm sight of children orphanage eating together as family. It really brings a good vibe. The main characters personality is kind of mainstream. While the Yuuichirou is grumpy, Mikaela is more caring. And such style will lead to some predictable outcome later. You know, it's like the nature of Suzaku and Lelouch in Code Geass. The visual is good. The setting is like painting and the characters is fairly rendered. The design of character and outfit is really good. The girl looks adorable without too much moe or revealing outfit. And the most important aspect is the twist. Yeah, one might be certain it would be turn out like that. But at the moment I slightly hope it may not turn out like that. But it could be another meaning that they were serious about the story.

A love stories that would unsettle you and pound oneself's heart so bad. Really bad.

Need a light romantic comedy every week? Just watch this. The comedy only works well if you have watched the first season and know the way each character talk. But the romance would be fell your head over heels in love in disparate way. Actually they put the dialogues in smart way for expressing satire and irony based on circumstances without exaggerating things. Aside from that, the romance has been really sweet and subtle unlike another anime that ends up with obvious harem or ecchi to entice viewers. I don't see any bad for giving fan service but sometimes giving a pure and ordinary romance in a common high school setting really brings a good vibe. 

It might take some times to take a fancy to this series. We judge the rank only based on 1st episode. I would like to assure you nevertheless that it only needs 2 episodes to love this series as for this season as I did. Once you get caught, you will be grateful to experience love in youth. What, you didn't? Don't worry you will get used to that encounter your love in no time. Since I have watched the first season, I almost always laughed for every word Hikigaya said. He might be a negative person but I like almost every word he said. It could be made as a good cite often. But looks like things is getting more serious this time. They has a noble song from both renowned group of anime singer that is Aimer and Kalafina. Ufotable studio is also doing a great job with the animation resulting a beautiful and stunning rendition with a dynamic viewpoint of camera and miraculous effect which in our opinion it is the best visual presented among all anime in this season. 

As for story, you don't need to bother questioning it. The story is another route called the same as the subtitle, Unlimited Blade Works with Rin the heroine as the main focus while the first anime adaptation used the so-called Fate route with no doubt Fate as the main focus. A falter love stories that make everyone steamed-up to follow the continuance, Nisekoi, is ready to entertain us with their antics in its second season subsequent to the releasing of third OVA a moment ago. It looks they get more heroine so we can expect a double laughter from now on. If you have been following Nisekoi for long you must be understand that Raku plays the major role of giving an exaggerating reaction based on the girls behavior, well it seems this time the girl will play much more instead. 

If you have seen Raku self-talking in his mind, shouted, and act unreasonably frenzy with loud voice, Chitoge will conduct those instead without leaving her tsundere as you can watch in 1st episode. Nisekoi is an easy to understand series no matter the point you start watching from. But if you want to get the gist of situation entirely you can watch the episode 0 of the 2nd season guided by this season seiyuu master race, Touyama Nao, the seiyuu of Chitoge.

2. Gintama°

 

Long awaited Gintama is finally back! The anime begun with Sakata Gintoki giving a speech in somewhat press-conference which without a doubt is just another nonsense. Gintoki found time is stopped thanks to him. While the world really needs a savior to save the day, unfortunately there is only trio Yorozuya remained to move freely to save entire universe. Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi and Kagura has to unveil the mysteries before they can hold no more to make use of the situation for their own benefit!

For crying out loud, if you have watched anime for a long time but you still don't watch Gintama yet, you have to shame on yourself. The anime which breaks any legal boundaries and goes at its utmost for every effort to make a joke and bares no shame to unhide any idiocy, is once again calling all their fans to laugh and get amazed together by their behavior. The joke they provided is really on different level. It's so hilarious and unexpected, if we can't say it's unreasonable. 

But being a Gintama fans since a long time ago we can tell that Gintoki and gangs antics is not only thing they sell. If the things got serious the story is really enthralling the moment they are entering a serious arc. When the thing is getting serious sometimes the story could be heartwarming yet in another time it could be pitiful with a lot of blood and cries after battle. To put it simply, Gintama is one of masterpiece within anime world that still prove its quality to constantly deliver everything from the funniest one to the bitter end one.

Grisaia no Meikyuu: Caprice no Mayu 0 is telling about dreary life of Kazami Yuuji's past. In order to go after the promotion in the Central Intelligent and Research Second (CIRS), Yuuji must carry out an interview conducted by Yuria "JB" Harudera. Based on the review he has submitted before, he revealed the dark path that lead him to be one of elite sniper in CIRS. The moment they learn the truth, everyone has a deeper feeling into Yuuji..

Grisaia no Rakuen is following the story ever since. It told about Yuuji ended up being taken care by Kusakabe Asako after the operation of Heath Oslo termination. Yuuji has been taught and raised in military norm. He was also growing fond to reading and sharpening his sniper and combat ability thanks to her. And he started to find his resolve at last.

Both of the show provides the best way to develop the character while the plot is still running. Neither the characters or time are wasted to explain the whole thing. Despite Yuuji's series of unfortunate event during his childhood, he has grown to refined man outside but a wild and rough soldier inside. Both of the story and the visual are bold. While the visual are attracting attention at the same time they provide an audacious content and risque themed story. It's actually not how people in military looks as it perceived in society but it would make a considerable fondness for everyone watching it. I've had gotten my military induction before I got my assignment for real in my work. And they told me the same thing about those military mindset. I believe everyone in military has gotten the same thing. It's good to bring those up in anime. The following soundtrack is mild and easy and it's slowly becoming tense at the right moment. No complaint at all.
