What is Hello Fest?

The concept of Hello Fest is to contain creative people and their idea, particularly in visual and pop culture field, in an event so they can share their ideas either with commoner or people with same interest. One best thing of Hello Fest: you can come enjoy the event without understanding anything.
Wearing casual clothing or put some cosplay in your style, it is your choice whether you want to express yourself to take picture with others or just enjoying the rundown of the event. Hello Fest had been presenting short film & animation, unique craft and merchandise, cosplay show on stage, trailer screening for upcoming movies and meet & greet with related artist, and so much more. Lately some local youtube artist was being guest star.

The event was held in Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta for 2 days on November 22nd - 23rd, 2014. 

Event Review

 

The secret of his burning power hidden in LED.

Individual cosplay show was held for the first day. There is so much creative and unique idea coming from the cosplayer. Using short audio-visual or just one of it, they show their act based on the character their bring on. I choose my second favorite to a guitar cosplayer that using Japanese Band Nightmare video on screen. He added a burning effect with a real flame on his guitar as show. That was great! My first choice goes to a Saint Seiya cosplayer that doing some stunt action with a little help from his companion that dressed all in black. This looks similar to Japanese show called Masquerade that once popular in local television channel. It is amazing to brought it back. Got a chance to take his picture.

 In a second day, the cosplay show is held for team. Just to remind, in Hello Fest every cosplayer called Kostumasa. A slightly different than previous day, some of them presenting dance cover, parody or lovely scene from popular anime or game, Masquerade-thing show, or dramatical gothic style. My second favorite is Love Live Dance Cover by STARμ's - Idol Project. They sang Kaguya no Shiro de Odoritai.

Their outfit was really stunning! Their cute image will be following after. My best favorite goes to team that doing Masquerade-thing show by presenting Shocker minion as Mario walking pass through hindrance that often seen in Mario games. In the end, the Luigi (Shocker minion again) had to took out his older brother that passing out due to Bowser attack. It was really amusing. I don't follow to next order schedule because I urge to seek participant cosplay. Their cosplay is really on different level even for beginner who were just starting.

10. Dark Magician - Yu-Gi-Oh!

 

At this pose, it's faster to stab enemy a**hole than casting a spell

 Though his costume quite simple, I like the color composition. Nice.

9. Galdino alias Mr. 3 & Miss Goldenweek - One Piece

 

Actually I impressed in Mr. 3 outfit only but since Miss Golden Week gave me Tomodachi no Kimidori there is no way I don't include her. Their uniqueness makes them easy to notice.

8. Seiya (Pegasus Saiya) - Saint Seiya

 

"Why I can have my own LED costume?"

Great stunt, light-emitting costume. You must be lied if you were not attracted. Actually, this guy won the real contest as Best Individual Show, officially. Furhermore, he has been winning for 2 years respectively!

7. Taurus Aldebaran - Saint Seiya

 

Same as before, with more shiny armor and great detail. Of course he get higher rank. 

6. Zinogre (Jinouga) Armor & Rathalos Armor - Monster Hunter

 

Such an excellent detail. You must be absent for your daily routine of hunting monster for crafting it.

5. Toujou Nozomi, Nishikino Maki, and Kousaka Honoka - Love Live! School Idol Project

 

Either in 2D or personated by real-life people, Love Live member always be loved by everyone. Their outfit mixed with their cuteness is really adorable. Kawaii..!

4. Bartolomeo the Cannibal - One Piece

 

His dedication in cosplay has reached a madness resemblance. Fake teeth and real-piercing. Wow! Sugoi desu ne.

3. Sinon - Sword Art Online

 

I've got sniped right away in my kokoro.

I'm dying of cuteness. Really, even her PGM Ultima Ratio Hecate II was built well. As I'm aware, this girl would make every effort to reconstruct scene from the anime with the photographer, of course unless it's really troublesome. She is regularly attend cosplay event. Her commitment to give the best as accordance to the intention of her group that named Diamond Dust.

2. Sanji - One Piece

 

This guy really knows how to be a Sanji. He reproduce model of Sanji before two-years timeskip. Bad-ass faced, arrogant expression with cigarette attached. He is truly Sanji. Rest assured, his cigarette is fake.

 

1. Mikoto Suoh - K

 

  

Finally, we end up see the best. Best thing for all of Mikoto Suoh cosplayer is his hair is always flawless. This one also isn't exception. His bad-tempered face is well suited with Mikoto characteristic. While his necklace increase his coolness, his cigarette add his manliness. Don't worry, this time also his cigarette is counterfeit. To make him takes all the glory, I got to say he did this cosplay while he got flu. Impressive!

Actually, I don't really know the origin of this character. But his act was really impressing me and girls around him. It's kind of creepy but at the same time it's amaze me and people around him. His consistent composure to every people who ask him to take picture remains mysteries. I wonder, is it his mysteriousness that makes girls wonderstruck?
